The purpose of this handbook is to give parents an overview of the services available to gifted students in Newport News and the selection procedures for these programs, as well as information on other resources for gifted children. It was written for parents and updated annually by the Office of Gifted Services. It is our hope that it will be a tool for increasing communication between parents and the school system, with the ultimate goal of working together to provide the best possible education for our gifted children.
