| NEW TEACHER ACADEMY
Welcome to the NNPS New Teacher Academy website!
The New Teacher Academy provides an infrastructure of support
that extends throughout the school year for every newly hired
teacher. The academy goal is to offer a wide range of professional
development strategies to address the needs of new teachers
who are novices as well as those who have prior teaching experience.
This division wide initiative is possible through the shared
commitment of the members of the instructional services, human
resources, and staff development departments, as well as site-based
administrators and hundreds of teacher mentors. Thus the human
network of support for new teachers permeates the entire organization
of NNPS.
This website was established to bring all New Teacher Academy
information together into one place. As an employee of Newport
News Public Schools, your information, suggestions, and requests
are welcome. Please send your input to
