School Board Applicant Update
(June 27, 2008) -- As the School Board deliberated in closed session about the applicant pool for the upcoming vacancy on the Board, a consensus emerged that it was unnecessary to conduct interviews on June 30th. The Board received excellent information through the applications filed by Board member aspirants. They were particularly impressed with the presentations made by applicants and citizen supporters during the public hearing and through other formal and informal means of communication. The information provided was very thorough and negated a need for face-to-face interviews. The Board still expects to appoint an individual to serve out Dr. Woodbury’s unexpired term pursuant to a recorded vote in an open session to be conducted the morning of July 2, 2008.
This is the first time that the School Board has had to fill a vacancy and the Board wishes to thank you for your interest.
