Newsweek Magazine: five NN
high schools are "top of the class"
(May 22, 2008) -- For the fourth year in a row,
Newsweek
magazine¹s list of top public high schools includes five
Newport News schools. Newsweek ranked high schools measured
by enrollment as well as access to Advanced Placement and International
Baccalaureate classes.
Warwick High School, ranked at 349, is highest among schools
in Newport News. Menchville High School ranked 470, Woodside
High School 947, Denbigh High School 1225, and Heritage 1064,
out of appoximately 27,000 high schools in the nation.
Schools on Newsweek's list, compiled of 1,300 schools, represent
the top 5 percent of public high schools in the nation.
