PARENTS INVITED TO AFFORDING COLLEGE PROGRAM
March 25, 2008 - How will your family pay for college expenses?
To learn more about financial planning for college,
area parents are invited to attend a free Affording College seminar
from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Warwick
High School, 51 Copeland Lane, Newport News.
Affording College will show parents of fifth through 11th graders
how to estimate college costs and how much they will be expected
to pay. The seminar will also address ways to save for college and
the methods used by colleges to award financial aid. The presentation
will focus on issues relevant to all parents who want to start planning
and saving for college.
Presenters will include a local college planning consultant, college
financial aid officers, a certified public accountant, a representative
from a guaranty agency, and the supervisor of school counseling
for Newport News Public Schools. The program is sponsored by Hampton
Roads Educational Consulting, LLC, and the Guidance Advisory Committee
of Newport News Public Schools.
