| CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES: ROLES
& RESPONSIBILITIES
Director, Curriculum and Instruction
- Facilitates UbD Subcommittee
- Grants final approval of all NNPS Curriculum
- Approves publication of the NNPS Curriculum for the C &
I Website
- Reports to stakeholders (Superintendent, Board, Principals,
Senior Staff, etc
UbD Subcommittee (Members of the C & I Department)
- Identifies issues, concerns, questions from curriculum writing
teams
- Contributes input on timelines, training, format, publication,
and related issues
- Makes decisions for entire department related to the curriculum
project
- Defines standardized software tools and utilities used within
the NNPS curriculum
Online Curriculum Design Project Lead
- Coordinates and organizes the production of the NNPS online
curriculum
- Workspaces in myNNPS for use by writing teams
- Website for teacher access to curriculum
- Establishes project standards and conventions
Curriculum Supervisor/Specialist (1 - 2 per program area)
- Organizes and monitors the development of the NNPS curriculum
within specific program area
- Acts as a specialized point of contact, answering questions
and responding to input from teachers, for the development and
refinement of curriculum within a specific program area
- Acts as a liaison between teachers and the UbD Subcommittee
- Addresses the input from teachers via the online curriculum

- Submits curriculum additions and corrections for review
- Notify the webmaster of changes in standards and website links

Teachers
- Provide feedback to curriculum supervisor/specialist for the
continuous improvement of the curriculum
- Submit original UbD lessons for possible inclusion in the curriculum
- Access the online curriculum for pacing and delivery of instruction
and assessment of student learning
- Assist curriculum supervisors/specialists in the dissemination
and monitoring of the online curriculum (Lead Teachers)
Technology Curriculum Integration Specialists
- Serve as working members of curriculum writing team
- Integrate the Technology Program scope and sequence into the
course curriculum
- Recommend technical tools and utilities to enhance the NNPS
curriculum
- Provide technical support to the writing teams
- Design technology rich lessons and assessments that align with
content SOL's and Technology scope and sequence and post within
the technology workspace.
Curriculum Review Lead
- Insure that newly written curriculum is assessed using the peer
review rubric for the purpose of giving feedback to the writing
teams
- Facilitate the review of the curriculum by C& I personnel
and external consultants
Curriculum Administrative Support
- Serves as point of contact for fielding general questions that
originate from the online curriculum prompt to insure responsiveness
