CONFERENCE 2008: Imagining the 21st Century Classroom

Consider how the concept of ‘globalization’ currently impacts schools and the people in them. Imagine the impact in 10, 15, or 20 years. How do we think differently to prepare our students for their world? What can we do differently so children and adults thrive in the future?

On January 4-5, 2008, teams from each Newport News school were involved in a global "think tank" on the topic of educating in and educating for the 21st Century. Teams from each school had a unique opportunity to interact with educators from around the globe using both live and video-feed experiences. The conversation generated will challenge as well as expand our thinking about effective classroom and administrative practices.
